Aistear Rainbow Room
November Theme: Space and Winter
Books
Our Autumn Theme was great fun!
We learned lots about the animals that hibernate including the hedgehog and the squirrel.
We went on many nature walks and noticed how everything was changing, the leaves were changing colours and falling from the trees. We used the leaves to make different pictures and we painted trees with Autumn colours.
We learned about the different trees in our school grounds and we planted acorns. We hope our acorns grow into Oak Trees.
We learned lots of lovely songs about Autumn too.

September Theme 2107 – Our Families, My locality.
We learned about belonging to our family and our community and school. We learned about all the different people that live and work in our community and school and how important it is for everyone to work together to care for our community.
We learned about family occasions including caring for a baby and celebrating a birthday party.
We built community buildings using bricks and lego, including a fire station, hospital and school.
We made flags to support our County football team Mayo, in the all Ireland final. We also enjoyed singing our county song “The Green and Red of Mayo” every day in the build up to the final. We learned that different players from different communities make up the football team.
